What is 11 by 11?

11 by 11 is a free programme of creative and cultural activities for children, young people and teachers.

It is a borough wide commitment for schools, cultural organisations and council services to work together to ensure the access to enrichment activities for children and young people, particularly targeting those who are most in need and most disadvantaged.

11 by 11 enables all schools and pupils in Islington to have access to high-quality cultural learning experiences free of charge and aims to place culture at the heart of every child’s learning and development.

The 11 by 11 Activity Menu is a universal offer for all Islington schools.

Activities are provided for free by cultural organisations, and schools can apply for activities twice yearly to cover the academic year.

How to book 11 by 11 activity for your school:

11 by 11 and Secondary Inclusion Pathways

The Inclusion Pathway, for students identified as at risk of becoming NEET, aims to provide support, including cultural activities, to help maintain student engagement with the learning environment.

We give priority booking for 11 by 11 activities to teachers/deputy heads booking on behalf of their inclusion pathway students. Once these have been allocated, offers will then be further assigned for general class teachers.

SEND Provision and Accessibility

Most of the activities offered can be adapted for SEND/PMLD/Alt provision. Please let us know if your group activity will need any adjustments so we can organise this with the provider.
