Newpark Montessori Nursery School

Newpark Montessori Nursery School - Clerkenwell

As a small family-run company with three decades of Early Years experience, we agree that you should not have to compromise your child’s need for a homely, safe environment if you choose childcare in central London.  Our Montessori nurseries have been carefully designed to offer just that. Our whole team loves what we do and takes pride in our beautiful environments where we blend the highest quality daycare with authentic Montessori education. Our lovely quiet nursery in Clerkenwell nestles in the Dance Square development and offers children space to grow, develop and learn. The nursery is centrally located between Goswell Road and Central Street and is served by several buses. The nearest stations are Barbican, Farringdon, Old Street and Angel. Our wonderful learning space offers a rich, broad curriculum incorporating Practical Life, Sensorial, Maths, Language, Culture, Science, Geography, Botany and Art. Children enjoy direct free-flow access to our large garden, where they take part in Yoga and Sports classes. Newpark is proud to be the first private nursery in the UK to become an accredited London Living Wage employer. Newpark Montessori Nursery School is an accredited Montessori school. Our setting has been awarded five stars for food safety in all our local authority environmental health inspections.

We have successfully completed the Millie’s Mark award. In order to achieve the Millie’s Mark certification, 100% of staff working directly with the children must be qualified in Paediatric first aid. The childrens’ safety is at the forefront of the setting’s mind when caring for children.

We are proud to be one of only 365 nurseries in Greater London to have been awarded Silver level for Healthy Early Years London (HEYL), which recognises that a nursery is providing a significant level of support for the health, well-being and education of children.

Islington Healthy Early Years works with settings to ensure a good level of support for the health and wellbeing of children under five and their families.  Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) is an awards scheme funded by the Mayor of London which recognises Early Years settings’ achievements in child health, wellbeing and development.  More information about the London award is available here.

How will you support my child?

Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND.

We provide a positive and welcoming environment where children are supported according to their individual needs. Each child is planned for individually to ensure their needs are met and they continue to develop and thrive.

Our staff are well informed and suitably trained to help support parents with special educational difficulties. Staff are trained regularly on tracking children's ongoing development in all areas of the EYFS and highlighting any signs of delay or SEN for each individual child.

In addition to working closely with our Islington link area SENCo who provides us with support, advice and training regarding children with SEND. We also work closely with external professionals for guidance and support for individual children.
