Daylight Islington
Daylight is a day service for adults with varying degrees of learning disabilities. Learning disabilities has to be the primary disability, however a lot of people using Daylight have additional physical needs, with some falling under dual diagnosis.
The service is increasingly outcome focused, and tries to meet the identified needs of an individual so that they can develop new skills and lead as independent a life as possible.
Integrating into the community and using facilities in the community are integral parts of the service at Daylight.
On-site activities include:
- catering
- art
- drama
- music
- Boccia
- gardening
- massage
- multi-sensory.
Community access includes:
- swimming
- museums
- galleries
- bowling
- hydrotherapy
- trampolining
- ice skating
A referral from Adult Social Care following a Care Act Assessment is required to attend the day centre. Request an assesment.
There may be a charge to attend the day centre. This is means tested.

We provide specialist support around communication and / or behaviour with input from the Learning Disabilities Partnership. We facilitate person centred planning through a keyworker system. Where someone identifies an activity we do not currently provide we will always endeavour to see if we can provide it. Activities are outcome focused and aim to promote individual development. We are delivering ASDAN qualifications for people with learning disabilities in moving to independence modules.
