The Peel Club is a welcoming and friendly Club for anyone who is over 55 years old. We have a long tradition of supporting the community and now, after over 100 years working for local people the Peel continues to provide a wide range of activities, classes and social events aimed at educating, stimulating and entertaining our members.

From Dancing to Tai Chi to Lunch to Computer Classes to Evening Meals to Parties, the Peel offers something for everyone and aims to meet most people’s tastes and needs.

As well as providing an expansive timetable of daily, weekly and monthly events, the Peel can also provide transport, meaning that older people who are less active are still able to come along and take part.

We provide a three-course meal, which costs just £4.00, and provide a choice of lunches, which includes hot, cold and a salad.

The Centre is a designated pick-up point for the community transport 812 bus, providing free local transport for older people on a range of designated routes.

Whilst the majority of Peel members are able to remain active and independent through services provided at the Centre, as users grow older their needs increase and they often become frailer and more dependent on staff for support and assistance. Working closely with social services and primary care providers we are able to support these members to remain independent and living in their own homes.

As well as providing services for active older people, the Peel is equipped to support older people who have a higher care needs. This support works in conjunction with social services, NHS and GP’s.

To attend the day centre if you have additional support needs, an assessment and referral from Social Services is required. There may be a charge to attend the day centre if you require additional support. This is means tested. Please see information on social services care charges for more details.

To request a social services assessment please contact the Access Service on 020 7527 2299 or via email
