Core Arts is a leading mental health creative education centre.
Their mission is to support and promote recovery, social inclusion and mental wellbeing through the arts and enhance service user experience.
They promote positive mental health and wellbeing through a college-like environment of creative learning.
They provide quality education, training, employment and social enterprise initiatives that enable people who experience mental health issues to overcome barriers, fulfil their potential and participate fully in their community.
Core Arts offers psychological wellbeing through creative education and practice. Offering access to 80 + creative classes a week under five departments: Arts, Music, Multimedia, Horticulture and Sports. Open studios and resources to work on self-directed projects. 3 bookable studios, 4 exhibition spaces, 2 art studios & an ICT Suite with computing support.
Core Arts is based in Hackney but they are open to new referrals from Islington residents and have membership spaces available for persons using personal budgets.
Potential clients must have current contact with NHS Mental Health Services; and have a referral form a Care Coordinator, Social Worker or Consultant from an NHS Psychiatric or Mental Health Team.
A referral can only be accepted if a person has access to a personal budget, direct payment or secure funding to cover the membership costs.

Core Arts is open all year for referrals for over 18s experiencing and managing mental health issues Eligibility for membership of Core Arts is the following; 1.Current contact with Mental Health Services 2.A CPA (Care Plan Approach) supported by either a social worker, care coordinator, CPN or key worker As a member you will have access to a variety of sessions and workshops run by professional tutors, with experience of the creative industries Applications for membership open all year.
