Children and Young People Social, Emotional and Mental Health Services, SEMH
From 30 September 2019, Islington Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services will be part of the new multi-agency Central Point of Access for all Social, Emotional and Mental Health referrals across Islington.
The Central Point of Access is based at the Children's Services Contact Team (CSCT) 222 Upper Street, Islington. This new model will enable greater access and choice of services and reduce the waiting times for children and young people to be supported in emotional wellbeing and mental health provision.
The move follows an extensive period of engagement, collaborating with local young people, families and local partners about how we can provide them with greater access and choice to social, emotional and mental health services.
What this means for referrals into social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) services
All referrals into CAMHS and wider SEMH services will receive safeguarding screening by Children's Services Contact Team Managers before being passed on to the relevant service, via a wider partnership intake team.
These services include:
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) provided by the Whittington Health NHS Trust
- Barnardos
- Brandon Centre
