The Emotional Wellbeing Team
The Emotional Wellbeing Team is a new service within the Social, Emotional and Mental Health Pathway provided by Isledon CIC. We help young people to access community activities as part of a personal plan to address mild to moderate wellbeing issues, such as stress, poor self-esteem or short-term low mood.
The support is flexible to meet the needs of each person. We will arrange to meet with you or speak over the phone to discuss your likes and dislikes and what you feel you want support with. We will work with you for as long as you need, remotely or in-person.
We will then build a personal plan which makes use of community resources to improve your wellbeing, and we will make personal introductions, act as a link person to set up sessions and can accompany you to activities.
Activities we have introduced young people to include recording studios, non-contact boxing, yoga, mindfulness, dance, art, writing groups…
We will be led by your interests and preferences, focusing on practical ways to boost your confidence and resilience, and improving your ability to manage and face challenges. We will look to find ways to help you:
- become motivated, positive and resilient
- develop self-help skills to get to where you want to be
- positively develop your relationships with friends and family
- gain the confidence to experiment, make mistakes and thrive
- get ready for the world of work (for those over 16)
We are part of the Social, Emotional and Mental Health Pathway which includes CAMHS, the Brandon Centre, TYS Counselling and Barnardos, and will work alongside these services to support a young person, although we are a non-clinical service, instead based in youth work.
