Local Offer

How will you support my child?

Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training re children with SEND.

Our SENCO has a MA in early childhood studies and she has attended training on children with educational needs for example: Autism, down syndrome, communication and language delay.

Not all staff have received the pecs level one training, however our SENCO and the support worker who supports our children with complex needs have both received the pecs training.

We have experience of working with children with wide range of needs including Autism, down syndrome, global developmental delay, communication and language delay, trauma and other emotional needs.

We provide a high quality curriculum which is inclusive and accessible to all children. We remove educational barriers for the children with SEND by putting in place a short term plan which is enable through the graduated approach. We valued children and their parent’s voices when formulating the short term plan.
We also run language group for children who may experience some communication and language or emotional needs, in addition we deliver attention builder which is an evidence based intervention support for children with Autism spectrum condition.

We work closely with other professionals to ensure that our families receive the appropriate services for example, the speech and language therapist,  clinical psychologist; educational psychologist; occupational therapist, health visitors, Social Communication Team; Early Years Development Team and outreach Services.
