Clerkenwell Mount Nursery

We opened in the Clerkenwell area of Islington in Autumn 2014.

We have well-resourced play spaces and a garden area along with a dedicated and motivated staff team who provide a secure and caring environment.  

Every child has their own dedicated key person to provide learning opportunities through a variety of play-based activities.  

Clerkenwell Mount Nursery is recognised as an Islington Health Early Years setting and has received the Healthy Early Years London Bronze Award.

Islington Healthy Early Years works with settings to ensure a good level of support for the health and wellbeing of children under five and their families. Healthy Early Years London (HEYL) is an awards scheme funded by the Mayor of London which recognises Early Years settings’ achievements in child health, wellbeing and development. How will you support my child?

Our setting welcomes children with SEND and we are committed to working with parents and other professionals to provide good inclusive practice. Our Islington link Area SENCO provides us with support, advice and training re children with SEND.

Our Senco has attended Senco training through Islington and is continuing to enhance her knowledge by variety of trainings such as speech and language, visual support, communication and language. Staff are regularly updated on SEN guidance.

Our staff have experience working with children with Speech and language difficulties and children with severe and complex needs and have worked alongside other professionals in the past to support their development.

We run small group for children to support their interaction and language skills as well as cater for bilingual children.

We have  access to Islington's EY SENCO team and have been working alongside a variety of professionals when attending to children’s needs e.g. physiotherapist, speech and language therapist, occupational therapist.
